Hilton Palacios del Rio
April 11, 2012
The Hilton Palacios del Rio is probably the most iconic tall hotel by the riverwalk. Its unique pattern of room balconies, resulted from the revolutionary modular construction back in the 1968 serves as a distinctive backdrop to riverwalk’s romantic scene. One may expect the space inside to be bland because of the construction method, but Hilton pulls out some interesting interior design that combines local flavor with the elegance typically found in a hotel like this. Despite the slender size of the building, I did not feel cramped inside, partly because of its convenient embrace toward the riverwalk below the ground floor.
