Intelligent Completions
Changing flowing-pressure differential, or drawdown, at various points in a wellbore regulates flow from individual zones. Future multilateral wells will likely involve many such processes, from inflow and injection control to reservoir monitoring and downhole separation, all controlled from surface in real time. Remotely operated downhole valves will optimize production or injection without costly well interventions. Current flow-control systems are hydraulically or electrically actuated to control the annular or tubular flow area in a wellbore.
