What is a XL Pre-Paid Card anyway?
An XL pre-paid card is a host based stored value card. A host-based card does not have value stored on the card itself-the value loaded on the Card is kept at a bank and the value is accessed each time you use your Card to make a purchase or ATM withdrawal.

Why would I buy an XL Pre-Paid Card?
An XL pre-paid Card is better than cash. It is safer to carry around than cash. It can be used at millions of locations to get cash from ATM machines and to make purchases as a debit transaction. You control the amount of funds available on your Card and cannot overspend.

Can the XL Pre-Paid card be used overseas?
Yes! The XL Pre-Paid Card can be used around the world at ATMs to withdraw cash. It cannot be used outside of the U.S. to make other debit transactions.

What are the different kinds of XL Pre-Paid cards?
XL Payment Systems offers several types of Pre-Paid cards.
XL Cash Card -This pre-paid card is a re-loadable cash Card that that can be used at ATMs or POS locations displaying the Plus, Star, Pulse or Interlink logos. It is designed for individuals that do not have a bank account, or the people that cannot get a traditional credit card because of no or bad credit. It is also great for college students because their parents can add value to the Card and have a history of where all funds are spent.
XL Gift Card - This pre-paid card is not re-loadable. Once the funds available are depleted, the Card is simply thrown away. It is a perfect one-time gift for graduating seniors, for x-mas presents, birthday presents, or corporate giveaways to customers and employees.
XL Payroll Card -This pre-paid card is re-loadable and is used by employees that do not want or do not have a bank account. The Card is simply loaded by the employer on each payday.
XL “Visa” Card -This card is a re-loadable Card that is just like the XL Cash card, but it can also be used at any location accepting “Visa” cards.

How do I use my card for making purchases? For ATM transactions?
When making purchases at retail locations, simply tell the cashier you want to pay with “debit”. Swipe your card, and then enter your unique 4 digit PIN. With the XL “Visa” Card, you also have the option to pay as a “credit” transaction. In this case, tell the cashier you want to pay with “credit”. After swiping your Card, this transaction will be completed with only your signature. When making ATM withdrawals, simply swipe your Card, and then enter your 4 digit PIN when prompted.

How do I re-load my Card?
Re-loading your Card is easy. Simply go back to the retailer where you bought your Card, or any other participating retailer and tell the cashier you want to add funds to your account. To re-load your Card, you will need the Card itself, and the funds you want to load. Swipe your Card when prompted. Give the funds to the cashier. You can also load funds on our website at www.xlcard.com or you can load funds over the phone at (800) 510-1314. To re-load funds on the web or phone, you will need your Card number (19 digit embossed number on the front of your Card) your unique 7 digit PIN, and another XL pre-paid Card or credit card to transfer funds from. XL Gift cards cannot be re-loaded.

Can I give the XL pre-paid card to someone under 18?
Yes. You can give a Card to anyone of any age. You cannot buy the Card yourself, however, unless you are 18 years old, or older.

Can I use my Card more than once?
Yes. You can use your Card as many times as you like, as long as there are available funds in your account.

Do the Cards expire?
The XL Cash Card DOES NOT expire. The XL Payroll Card DOES NOT expire. The XL “Visa” Card DOES NOT expire. These Cards can be used, and re-loaded indefinitely. If however, there has been no activity, and no available funds for a period of 60 days on these Cards, they will be dropped from our database and no longer can be used. The XL Gift Card DOES expire. Are my funds FDIC insured?
Your funds are NOT FDIC insured.

Can I change my 4 digit PIN or 7 digit PIN?
You cannot change your 4 digit or 7 digit PIN.

If stolen or lost, can my Card be re-placed?
Yes. If your Card is lost or stolen, call our customer service group IMMEDIATELY at (800) 510-1314. We can cancel your old Card, issue you a new Card and transfer the balance of available funds to your new Card. There is a fee of $9.95 for this service.

How much money can I put in my Card account?
You can load any amount between $20 and $1,995 on your card. The total available funds cannot go over $1,995. The XL Payroll card can be loaded with any amount if funded by your employer as a regular payroll deposit. The XL Gift card is loaded with a pre-determined amount between $25 and $250. Federal Law prohibits one person from owning multiple Cards with a total value on all Cards over $3,000, without further personal identification.

Are there fees associated with use of the card?
There are fees associated with certain types of transactions These fees are to cover our costs of issuing the Card, database management, PIN generation, customer service, transaction processing costs, sponsorship costs, toll-free account inquiries and other types of expenses.
